Phone Support Availability
GWCP Main Office phones will be answered 7:30 am - 3:15 pm. Please do not leave voicemails for counselors or teachers, as they do not currently have access to their voicemail. If you need support outside of those hours, leave a voicemail and someone will return your call within 24 hours during the week. Staffing to answer phones is limited and we thank your for your patience if you call back multiple times to speak with someone.
Building Availability
The building is open 7:30 am - 5:00 pm. At this time, no visitors are permitted in the building, but someone will greet you at the Main Entrance and help you. Due to limited staffing, please be patient when waiting for support.
GWCP Textbook & Supply Distribution is August 24-28th!
GWCP will be distributing supplies and textbooks the week of August 24th-28th, 9am-1pm.

  • About George Washington High School

    George Washington offers its students an outstanding comprehensive education in a culturally rich environment. Students can choose from more than 100 course offerings, with 52 sections of honors and AP classes. Students also have the opportunity to tap into a network of over 50 campus clubs and student groups and a full inter-scholastic athletic program, with 22 teams in 15 sports. In addition, Washington has an active Richmond Neighborhood program, Wellness Center, Parent Teacher Student Association, and Alumni Association.

    George Washington High School provides a learning environment that is safe and secure, promotes high academic and ethical standards, and prepares all students to become successful lifelong learners in a global, multicultural society. We believe that equity means not only providing equal access to school resources, but providing appropriate support so all students can take advantage of all resources. We encourage our students to explore every academic opportunity available.

    Richmond Neighborhood Center Program is on site from 3:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The center provides after school and evening enrichment programs for students and adults.     Published annually by SFUSD to provide access to key data points and three-year trends related to student achievement and school culture-climate. The highlights are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Filipino, and Vietnamese.

    School Accountability Report Cards (SARCs) are required by state law and are intended to provide families with important information about each public school.

    A two-year plan each school creates with families, students and community members that details the school's goals and priorities.
  • 2018-2019 Social-Emotional and Culture Climate Report

    SFUSD annually surveys families and school staff on a range of school climate indicators that have been found to predict positive student academic achievement. The social-emotional learning of students in grades 4-12 is also assessed.
