Matrox Avi Codec For Mac

Posted on  by
I've just found a very odd playback issue when attempting to playback Matrox HDV AVI files that I captured last week in WMP 11.
When I click the files in the capture folder to play them back WMP11 opens then stalls, after 15 to 20 seconds I get a message on the bottom left that states Codec Acquired and a few seconds later the file will start to play.
If I string (select) several videos together and drag them into WMP they will all play but when that playback is stopped and I start a new video I'm back to waiting for a Codec to be Acquired and I stall again.
These clips were captured with Matrox 3.6 drivers (Tools 3.6.0.145) in a Vista 32 machine with Premier Pro CS3 build 3.2.0 (374).
The clips can be played back just fine if I import them into a project, this doesn't seem to affect any of the operation of Premier only for quick playback of the files in WMP. Also installed on the box is Nero and the playback program from Nero (Showtime) will not play back the files at all, in fact they will freeze up the program causing a hard close, the Nero version is approved for Vista but is an older version (7 I think) but I'm not concered about playback in Showtime.
I've also disabled preview via the Matrox WYSIWYG plug in so I'm basically having issue with playback direct on my main monitor via WMP.
